How To Build A Picnic Table Bench

Materials You'll Need:

Steps:
- Cut the 2x4 lumber into the following lengths:

- 4 pieces at 18 inches long (aprons)
- 2 pieces at 72 inches long (seat supports)
- Cut the 2x6 lumber into the following lengths:
- 2 pieces at 72 inches long (seat)
- Cut the 1x4 lumber into the following lengths:
- 4 pieces at 29 inches long (seat trim)
- Assemble the legs by attaching the aprons to the legs with wood screws. Be sure to use wood glue for extra strength.
- Attach the seat supports to the legs, making sure that they are evenly spaced.
- Cut the plywood to fit the seat of the bench. Attach the plywood to the seat supports with wood screws.
- Attach the seat trim to the edges of the plywood. This will help to hide the plywood edges and give the bench a finished look.
- Finish the bench by applying a coat of paint or stain.
