How to Build a Glass Top Shadow Box Coffee Table

Materials

1 sheet of 3/4-inch plywood (4 feet x 8 feet)
1 sheet of 1/4-inch plywood (4 feet x 8 feet)
1 piece of 1/2-inch glass (4 feet x 8 feet)
1 can of wood glue
1 box of 1 1/4-inch wood screws
1 box of 1 1/2-inch wood screws
1 tube of clear silicone caulk
1 tube of black silicone caulk

Instructions

Cut the 3/4-inch plywood into two pieces, each measuring 4 feet x 2 feet.
Cut the 1/4-inch plywood into two pieces, each measuring 4 feet x 1 foot.
Assemble the box by gluing and screwing the 1/4-inch plywood pieces to the inside of the 3/4-inch plywood pieces. The 1/4-inch plywood should be flush with the edge of the 3/4-inch plywood.
Secure the box by driving 1 1/2-inch wood screws through the 3/4-inch plywood into the 1/4-inch plywood. Countersink the screws slightly below the surface of the wood.
