How to Build a Propane Fire Pit Table

A propane fire pit table is an excellent addition to any outdoor living space. It provides warmth, ambiance, and a place to gather with friends and family. Building a propane fire pit table is a relatively easy project that can be completed in a weekend. Here are the steps on how to do it:

Materials you'll need:

  • Propane fire pit burner pan
  • Lava rocks or fire glass
  • Tabletop material (such as concrete, tile, or stone)
  • Base material (such as cinder blocks, pavers, or bricks)
  • Propane tank
  • Propane hose and regulator
  • Safety glasses
  • Gloves
  • Drill
  • Screws
  • Wrenches

Step 1: Choose a location for your fire pit table.

The location should be well-ventilated and away from any flammable materials. It should also be level and have a solid base.

Step 2: Build the base of the fire pit table.

The base can be made from cinder blocks, pavers, or bricks. Stack the blocks or pavers in a square or rectangle, depending on the size of your fire pit table. Use screws or mortar to secure the blocks or pavers together.

Step 3: Install the propane fire pit burner pan.

Place the propane fire pit burner pan on top of the base. Center the burner pan and secure it with screws.

Step 4: Add lava rocks or fire glass.

Fill the burner pan with lava rocks or fire glass. Lava rocks are less expensive than fire glass, but they can give off dust and debris. Fire glass is more expensive, but it is cleaner and lasts longer.

Step 5: Install the tabletop.

Place the tabletop on top of the base. Center the tabletop and secure it with screws.

Step 6: Connect the propane tank.

Attach the propane hose to the propane tank. Then, connect the other end of the hose to the regulator on the fire pit burner pan. Tighten the connections with wrenches.

Step 7: Test the fire pit table.

Turn on the propane tank and light the fire pit burner. Adjust the flame height to your desired setting. Enjoy your new fire pit table!

Safety tips:

  • Never leave a fire pit table unattended.
  • Keep children and pets away from the fire pit table.
  • Do not use the fire pit table in windy conditions.
  • Do not place flammable materials near the fire pit table.
  • Have a fire extinguisher nearby.
