How To Make A Console Table
Console tables are a great way to add style and functionality to your home. They can be used in a variety of ways, from displaying artwork and photos to storing books and magazines. Best of all, they are relatively easy to make, even for beginners.
To make a console table, you will need the following materials:
- 1x12 pine board, 6 feet long
- Four 2x4s, 2 feet long
- One 1x4 pine board, 2 feet long
- Wood glue
- 1-inch wood screws
- Sandpaper
- Paint or stain (optional)
Once you have gathered your materials, follow these steps to make your console table:
- Cut the 1x12 pine board to length. This will be the top of your console table.
- Attach the 2x4s to the bottom of the top piece, using wood glue and screws. The 2x4s should be evenly spaced, and they should be flush with the edges of the top piece.
- Cut the 1x4 pine board to length. This will be the bottom shelf of your console table.
- Attach the bottom shelf to the console table, using wood glue and screws. The bottom shelf should be centered on the console table, and it should be flush with the front and back edges.
- Sand the entire console table to smooth out any rough edges.
- Paint or stain the console table, if desired.
Once your console table is finished, you can use it to display your favorite items or to store books and magazines. It is a great way to add style and functionality to your home.
